Akaroa to Kaikoura
Day 30, Friday, February 10, 2006 Still showery, we stopped at a winery north of Christchurch and sampled a number of their products. (We had to do something that was inside). By the time we reached Kaikoura, the showers had stopped and we walked along the beach for a couple of hours. Kaikoura offers boat trips to see whales, dolphins and seals, but with the unsettled weather, we chose not to go out.

I bet it wasn't just the weather! The visit to the winery probably factored in as well!!
Many reminders of our trip with the Pentlands 10-12 yrs. ago. we are enjoying your trip every mile of the way. Hope the weather improves. You may be pleased to hear we are expecting some very cold winter weather by thur, like 30 below, Brrrrrrr. It will feel much colder after the winter we have had so far. J&J
Tony and Janice, I was looking for a bottle to throw into the ocean, you know, with a message.
J and J. Glad we've brought back some fond memories, It's just a beautiful place. Jack, if you have access to this, thanks for the tip about the "beers". When asked, I smartly replied, black, grizzley and polar. But the question remains, if bears are "beers", what are beers?
